Metta as Impersonal Love
We'll continue our exploration of the cultivation of a loving heart and reflect on a brief bit of writing from Sean Feit Oakes
Relational Night
Dear Sangha,
We'll gather at the big tent this evening from 6:30 to 8:30 for meditation and discussion.
Tonight will be a relational group.
Wishing you moments of space and ease until then. 💖
Mettāsahagatasutta -Sutta Study
This evening, we'll take a look at a lovely sutta (https://suttacentral.net/sn46.54/en/bodhi?lang=en&reference=none&highlight=false) that talks about the "liberation of the mind by metta/Love" employing the seven awakening factors to bring metta to it's pinnacle: "the beautiful."
Relational Night
This week we're on our relational format--an opportunity to check in with each other about our spiritual lives on and off the cushion.
Relational Night
We'll gather this evening at Asher’s Office in Oregon City this evening from 6:30 to 8:30 for meditation, discussion, and tea. This evening's gathering will use our relational format and I thought it might be nice if we specifically focused on how we might support each other in staying connected to our practice throughout the week between our physical togetherness. We'll see what arises.
Dhamma-cakkappavattana Sutta
We'll gather this evening (Wed, Mar 4th) from 6:30 to 8:30 for meditation, discussion, and togetherness. Tonight, we'll bring to a close this layer of exploration of the Dhamma-cakkappavattana Sutta (the Discourse on the Turning of the Dhamma Wheel) by discussing the experience of insight (i.e. knowing something deeply and fully enough to really change the way we move through the world in a non-effortful way).
4th Noble Truth
This evening is a topic focused group and we will read from Gil Fronsdal's reflections on the fourth noble truth. I look forward to spending some time with you this evening.
